‘It Didn't Hurt That Much': Chicago Kids Get COVID-19 Vaccine

Smaller orange syringes, with smaller doses than those meant for adults, offer big comfort to parents.

CHICAGO (CBS) — “I’ve been waiting for this," said 11-year-old Maia's mom. “We don’t get out to parties, nothing like that. Because we don’t want COVID into our houses. Because we don’t know the consequences for them."

Major pharmacy chains will begin their rollout this weekend, but some clinics have already begun vaccinating kids. “It didn’t hurt that much,” Maia said.
