Actor Jussie Smollet is set to return to Chicago for the start of his trial on charges that he allegedly faked being the victim of a hate crime in downtown Chicago nearly three years ago.

  • It's set to be a busy day for reporters at the Cook County criminal courthouse as jury selection begins today in the trial of Adam Hollingsworth — also known as the "Dreadhead Cowboy. He faces animal cruelty charges related to riding his horse on the Dan Ryan Expressway last year. Hollingsworth plans to represent himself in court. (ABC7)
  • Bears Hall of Famer Dan Hampton was arrested for drunken driving in Winfield, Indiana, where he lives. Hampton was charged with driving under the influence on Nov. 20, spend the night in jail and was released on $25,000 bond. (Patch)
  • A 63-year-old man was charged with stabbing a CTA bus driver who caught him trying to pick another rider's pocket in Lincoln Park. Daniel Pelt was charged with aggravated battery toward a transit employee and use of a deadly weapon. (NBC)
  • A girl who was abducted by three men wearing ski mask Saturday night was found in the back of a car Sunday morning. The girl, a minor, told investigators she had "no memory of what occurred until she woke up in the back of the vehicle" in the 1700 block of North Harlem Avenue. (WGN)
