Konkol Column + West Loop Shootout + Fake Vaccine Cards + Fun

Happy Thursday, Chicago! 40th Ward Ald. Andre Vasquez will be rapping on stage for a block party at Ainslie Art Plaza at 6 p.m.

(Mark Konkol/ Patch)

It's Thursday, Chicago. By now you have heard the Bears have plans to build a stadium in the suburbs that is 31.4 miles (or 55,264 yards) away from their current home, Soldier Field.

With Coach Matt Nagy's offense averaging 192 yards a week, it will take them until 2039 to get there. Ba-da-bing! (This joke was brought to you by a Chicago Patch reader.)

No joke: 40th Ward Ald. Andre Vasquez invited constituents to come see him rap at a block party tonight at Ainslie and Western. Show starts at 6 p.m. “For YOU all, I will be also be rapping LIVE as a thank you! This is one you will definitely NOT want to miss!” Vasquez said in an email to volunteers.

  • El Milagro employees who walked off the tortilla assembly line last week say they get "worked like machines" in unsafe conditions, subject to sexual harassment and not paid fairly. “We try to do our best, but there comes a point where you say, ‘ya basta’ (enough is enough), I can’t take it anymore." (South Side Weekly)
