Video: Lamborghini Bursts into Flames in Chicago

The high-performance sports car struck a light pole Saturday afternoon at Balbo and Columbus Drive.

CHICAGO, IL — A Lamborghini burst into flames in downtown Chicago Saturday afternoon after striking another car and a light pole near Grant Park. Fortunately, the driver was pulled from the wreckage before the fire.

The incident unfolded at Columbus Drive and Balbo Drive around 3 p.m. The high-performance sports car appeared to split in two after hitting the pole. The driver was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Chicago Fire Department, and his condition is unknown at this time.

A witness told NBC Chicago a car hit the Lamborghini, which spun into the pole and cracked. The witness, Andre King, told NBC he and a deputy pulled the driver from the car.

By the time the fire was out, all that was left was a charred husk.
