Major Crashes Tie Up Chicago-Area Interstates
Several people seriously hurt and one killed in 2 crashes, one on I-90 near Elgin and the other on I-355 near Downers Grove.

Driver Hospitalized; I-355 Shut Down
Southbound I-355 was shut down from Army Trail Road to Roosevelt Road due to a serious accident Friday morning. Tollway crews blocked entrance ramps until about 10 a.m. The accident took place after 7 a.m. when the driver of a 2005 Chevy Blazer lost control and struck a 2014 Chevy Equinox, then veered into the concrete barrier and spun back into traffic, striking a 2000 Chevy Express van, according to State Police. The driver, 33, of Algonquin, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered major injuries.
