CHICAGO, IL — Festival goers will flood downtown Chicago for Lollapalooza 2025 as over 170 artists are set to perform across eight stages.

Thousands of fan travel from around the world to experience the four-day summer music festival, which made its home in Chicago in 2005. Here are five things you need to know about the festival in order to enjoy it to the fullest:

Parking and Transit Tips
The closest parking lot to the festival grounds is Millennium Garages, which is situated beneath Grant Park, Millennium Park & Maggie Daley Park. The festival offers daily and multi-day parking options at the Millennium Lakeside Garage, Millennium Park Garage and Grant Park North.

For those traveling by train, The closest stops to the festival are Adams/Wabash on the green, pink, orange, purple and brown lines; Roosevelt on the green and orange lines; and Jackson on the blue and red lines.
All CTA "L" trains are easily accessible from both Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center, where Metra commuter trains let off.
For bikers, Lollapalooza has partnered with REVERB to offer complimentary bike valet.
What You Can and Can't Bring
Permitted items allowed inside Lollapalooza Music Festival include:
- Backpacks and purses
- Baby strollers
- Binoculars
- Cameras without detachable lenses and other accessories
- Reusable water bottles and hydration packs
- Factory sealed Naloxone/Narcan kit
- Hydration/Electrolyte packets in factory sealed single serving package
- Personal sized hand sanitizer
- Personal misting fans with a bottle no larger than 1.5L
- Portable battery packs
- Sunscreen in non-aerosol containers is allowed in the size of 3.4 ounces or less

Unfortunately there is a long list of items not allowed at the festival including:
- Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and personal beauty products
- Blankets, Sheets, Towels
- Coolers of any kind
- Frisbees
- Any and all professional audio recording equipment
- Professional cameras and professional recording equipment
- Drones or any other remote flying device
- Hammocks
- Glass containers of any kind
- Illegal and Illicit substances of any kind
- Inflatables of any kind
- Outside food or beverage (including alcohol) of any kind
- Umbrellas
- Pets (except service animals)
- Selfie sticks
- Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts or any personal motorized vehicles
- Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind.
- Totems or flag poles.
- Weapons or explosives of any kind
- Fireworks
- Large chains or spiked jewelry
- Chairs of any kind
How To Activate Your Wristband
Once you have your Lollapalooza wristband in hand, you'll need to activate it to use it. Festival runners recommended attendees activate their wristband in advance for faster access into the grounds.
Here's how to set up your wristband:
- Scan the QR Code that came with your wristband
- Input the 7-digit code on the back of your wristband
- Confirm your email address
- Enter your name and contact info
- Optional: register for cashless to have an easy way to pay for food, drinks and merch
Prepare For Sun
This weekend is expected to be warm and sunny, with temperatures in the high 70s, with a 90 percent chance of rain on Thursday. According to Accuweather, the UV index is expected to be very high, so pack some sunscreen in your bag.
There will be water available for purchase at the festival, as well as a free water station for attendees to refill their own reusable water bottle.

Food And Beverage
There will be a variety of food and beverage options at the festival including several bars and food trucks from local favorites. From pizza to sweet treats, there will be a variety of options for festival goers to choose from.
