Lurie Children's Hospital Reps Propose $51M Expansion
The project would allow the health care center to accommodate more critical care patients, according to reports.

Lurie Children's Hospital is growing, leading reps to propose a $51 million expansion aimed at increasing critical care services.
The plan includes the addition of 44 intensive-care beds to the hospital's current 92, according to an NBC News report. The story indicates that more than 100 critical care patients were turned away in 2016 due to lack of space.
"As part of the expansion, Lurie also wants to add four neonatal intensive care beds to its existing 60, according to an application filed by the hospital this month with the Illinois Health Facilities & Services Review Board," the article said.
