Man In Chicago River Thrown Life Preserver By Witness: CFD
The incident happened Tuesday morning in a part of the river near LaSalle Street, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

CHICAGO, IL — A man in the Chicago River was pulled from the water Tuesday morning thanks to a fast-acting passerby, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The witness threw a life-preserver ring to the man and "made [the] save," the department said in an online update.
The incident happened before 11 a.m. Feb. 20 in a part of the river near LaSalle Drive, according to the fire department. After he was pulled to land, the man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
No other details have been released yet about the incident.
