The fire department advised people to stay off shoreline rocks due to a warning for high waves. The National Weather Service warned of "life-threatening waves and currents" at beaches along the lake. "Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore," the NWS said, adding, "Rip currents can sweep you into deeper water."
