Man Killed In I-55 Crash That Closed Lanes For 6 Hours: ISP
The 31-year-old Summit man was killed after police said his car hit the back of a semi-tractor trailer early Monday, causing long delays.

CHICAGO — Outbound lanes of I-55 have reopened after being closed for more than six hours following a fatal accident early Monday morning on the expressway near Midway Airport, according to the Illinois State Police.
The crash occurred around 2 a.m. around Harlem Avenue and involved a car and a semi-tractor trailer that killed one person, the state police said. Police have only identified the person as being a 31-year-old man from Summit who was driving the vehicle that collided with the semi-tractor trailer.
Lanes on I-55 between Harlem Avenue and Central remained closed until around 8:30 a.m., the state police said.

During rush hour traffic, heavy delays were reported on the expressway as police investigated the crash. Police said that a white Honda HRV crashed into the back of the semi-tractor trailer, police said.
