Possibly the most interesting thing about protests to City Hall's coronavirus vaccine mandate is that Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara can't stop talking about Nazis.

In August, Catanzara apologized for evoking Holocaust imagry when discussing the controversial jab requirement for all city workers. On Tuesday, he did it again outside police headquarters.

  • Former Blackhawks draft pick Kyle Beach is "John Doe." On Wednesday, Beach confirmed to Canadian sports station TSN that he was the player who accused former Hawks video coach Brad Aldrich of sexual abuse. "I was fearful. I had my career threatened. I felt alone and dark," he said. (Patch)
  • The City Council approved Mayor Lori Lightfoot's $16.7 billion budget in record time. Some folks will pay higher property taxes. Others will get $500 checks every month for a year as part of a "guaranteed income" pilot program. There's money in the budget for boosted mental health centers, tree trimming and new trash cans. (WBEZ)
  • NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has summoned former Blackhawks Coach Joel Quenneville to his office. Coach Q —who led the Hawks to three Stanley Cup titles — will be asked to discuss his role in the mishandling of sexual assault allegations that surfaced during the team's 2010 title run. (Patch)
  • State authorities raided three Parlor Pizza restaurants Wednesday as part of an investigation into possible tax code violations. The restaurant chain serves up wood-fired pizzas with funny names fitting for a post-raid feast, including: "Burrata Be Kidding Me" and "Cheesus, Mary & Joseph." (CBS2)
  • A man arrested on felony trespassing charges after living at O'Hare airport for three months was found not guilty this week. A judge said Aditya Singh didn't breach any unauthorized areas. He was acquitted without having to mount a defense. (U.S. News & World Report)
