Michael Jordan 'Last Dance' Jersey From 1998 NBA Finals Auctioned
The jersey, featured prominently in the documentary, was worn during the Bulls' second "three-peat" and could fetch $5 million.

CHICAGO, IL —One of Michael Jordan's game-worn jerseys during the 1998 NBA Finals — featured heavily in the ESPN Films/Netflix docuseries "The Last Dance"— is hitting the auction block, and could go for up to $5 million, according to Sotheby's.
The auction for the coveted jersey begins Sept. 6, and it will also be on display in Monterey, California, from Aug. 17-20, according to NBC Los Angeles. The auction closes Sept. 14.
Jordan wore the red "away" jersey during Game 1 against the Utah Jazz — a particularly hostile environment for the Bulls.

According to Sotheby's, "In footage surrounding the game, Utah fans are seen driving a car with a Bull placed on a spit, as if it were being grilled. It was so contentious that Jordan’s children were forbidden by their mother from attending the game."
The series was the most-viewed NBA Finals ever, and ended Jordan's final season with the Chicago Bulls with the team's second "three-peat" victory.

"Jordan would play 45 minutes in Game 1 – the most minutes on court of any of his 1998 NBA Finals games – and help send the game to overtime, registering 33 points in this iconic red away jersey on his way to his 6th NBA Championship and 6th Finals MVP award," the listing boasts.
Jordan can be seen wearing the jersey in the most iconic scenes from "The Last Dance," as the players knew the season was their final opportunity to capture a sixth NBA Championship with the legendary 1990s lineup.
The jersey from the 1998 championship is one of two NBA Finals jerseys from Jordan's six championships to ever be auctioned.
