UPDATE: A petrified Pamela Johnson fled a pack of men who accosted her in Chicago, but they she into the path of a truck and was killed.
The men who chased Pamela Johnson onto Lake Shore Drive, sending her running headlong into the path of an oncoming truck and her death over the holiday weekend, turned themselves over to police late Tuesday.
Who found them? Their mothers.
Their moms and relatives saw the flyers and TV coverage, recognized them in the surveillance images, and "did the right thing," according to community activist Andrew Holmes, per a DNAinfo Chicago report. Holmes accompanied at least one of the young men to the police station, reports NBC Chicago.

The death captured widespread attention over the holiday weekend, and the episode is seen by some as evidence of the increasingly brazen criminal behavior throughout the city of Chicago.
The boyfriend was also struck by the truck early Sunday morning that killed Johnson, 32. She was a single mom to a 12-year-old boy.

The boyfriend told police at least one of the men was carrying a gun when the pack approached Johnson and her boyfriend and threatened them. They ran, crossed a barrier and as the men pursued they ran onto Lake Shore Drive.
“We clear the northbound, get southbound and I can see them coming with the gun in the air, chasing,” the 43-year-old boyfriend, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of his safety, told NBC Chicago. “We just jumping in front of traffic because we see a gun.”
Five men are in police custody Wednesday morning, Fox Chicago reports.
