- Monty the Piping Plover died Friday at Montrose Beach, birdwatchers said. Monty and his mate, Rose, captured Chicago's heart when they became the first Great Lakes piping plovers to raise chicks in Chicago since in more than 60 years. (Patch)
- Dakohtah Earley, the 23-year-old shot and critically wounded in a Lincoln Park robbery last week, has been removed from life support and breathing on his own, Kasey Chronis reports. (FOX32)
- The body of University of Illinois at Chicago student Natally Brookson was found in Lake Michigan. The 22-year-old was reported missing, along with her boyfriend, last month. Her boyfriend remains missing. (Patch)
