Here are the top 4 stories today in Chicago:

1. A man is in serious condition after being stabbed Tuesday night on a CTA Red Line platform. Chicago police said the 37-year-old was arguing with a woman at the Fullerton stop before she stabbed him twice in the neck. (WGN)

2. About nine percent of Chicagoans younger than five years old have been vaccinated for COVID-19, according to the city health department. Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady encouraged vaccination ahead of the fall semester, telling parents, “I just don’t want your kids to get sick.” Masks and vaccines will not be required at Chicago Public Schools this year, but they are "strongly encouraged" by the district. (NBC)

3. Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Wednesday she is “providing taxpayers with a much-needed break” as the city announced a 2.5 percent property tax increase. “If 2021 was our ‘pandemic budget,’ and 2022 was our ‘recovery budget,’ this one is our ‘stability budget,'” Lightfoot said. (Block Club)

4. The Cubs will play the Reds tonight in the second-ever Major League Baseball game at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa. The White Sox won last year’s game against the Yankees in cinematic fashion with a Tim Anderson walk-off home run. (MLB)
