Naked Woman Steals Chicago PD Cruiser, Runs Over Cop, Crashes: Police

CHICAGO — A woman seen lying naked in the street by a Chicago police officer Monday stole the cop’s cruiser and ran over him before crashing, Chicago police officials said.

The woman, who has not been identified, crashed the CPD vehicle near Stroger Hospital after running over the officer in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood. The incident happened shortly after 9:30 a.m., Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown told reporters.

Brown said the police officer stopped to find out why the woman was lying naked in the street. The woman proceeded to assault the officer, steal his vehicle and run over him at Jackson Boulevard and Kostner Avenue, Brown said.

"We don’t know why the woman was lying in the street unclothed," Brown said, according to reports.

The officer suffered lacerations to his head and sustained leg injuries, Brown said.

NBC Chicago reported that police said the woman was armed and sideswiped five cars on Harrison Street near Damen Avenue near Stroger Hospital. She hit the cars after initially taking the police cruiser onto the Eisenhower Expressway, police said.

The woman was taken to the hospital for psychological evaluations, the station reported.
