Nor'easter: More Than 150 Flights Canceled At Chicago Airports
Airlines grounded flights Wednesday afternoon at O'Hare and Midway airports in advance of the East Coast storm.

CHICAGO, IL — More than 150 flights to and from the East Coast have been canceled Wednesday afternoon at Chicago's airports in advance of severe weather forecasted for that area, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation. Airlines began proactively canceling flights at O'Hare International and Midway airports in anticipation of a mix of snow and rain caused by another nor'easter that could hit from Cape Cod to the Jersey Shore.
As of 1:20 p.m, 138 flights had been grounded at O'Hare, and 37 flights had been canceled at Midway, according to the aviation department's website. Delays at both airports were averaging less than 15 minutes, the agency said.
The expected winter storm could dump as much as 2 feet of snow on the East Coast, according to forecasts. Last weekend, a nor'easter generated wind gusts up to 93 miles per hour, leaving thousands without power in the southern New England states, as well as Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
