Obituary: Kyla Lenoir

Her legacy of love, creativity, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of being in her life.

Kyla Lenoir

Kyla Lenoir, 57, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. Born on November 21, 1967, she was the beloved daughter of Ben and Judirita Lenoir. Kyla's warm spirit and creative heart touched the lives of many.

She graduated from Morristown College with an Associate degree in Personal Management and dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker, nurturing her family and pouring her creativity into artistic designing. Her passions included crafting keepsakes, creating unique t-shirts, exploring the world of wine through classes, and collecting antiques that told stories of the past.

A devoted member of the Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Kyla found solace and community in her faith, where she was known for her generous spirit and commitment to helping others.

Kyla is survived by her loving husband, Keith Jones; her stepdaughter, Akilah Jones; grandchildren, Darius Phillips, Jr. and Hailee Phillips; her father, Ben Lenoir; brothers, Desai Abdul-Razzaaq, La Tunji Lenoir (Regina), and Ben Lenoir, Jr.; and sisters, Kymaleta Lenoir and Kyttique Bruce (Anthony). She is preceded in death by her cherished mother, Judirita Lenoir.

Kyla's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and faith will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of being in her life.

Memorial Visitation for Kyla Lenoir will be Saturday, May 31, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL.
