O'Hare Shuttle Driver Critically Injured In Crash: CFD

The man, who is in his 80s, was thrown from the bus when Chicago Fire officials said that the shuttle bus appeared to crash into a median.

CHICAGO ­— One person was seriously injured when a shuttle bus at O’Hare International Airport crashed into a concrete wall on Friday morning, Chicago fire officials said.

The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 80s, was thrown from the vehicle in the crash, which took place at Terminal 5, officials said. First responders found the driver, who was taken to Lutheran General Hospital and was listed in critical condition, officials said.

Fire officials did not report any other injuries.

The bus sustained heavy damage after it appeared the vehicle crashed into a median. The crash forced several lanes around the terminal to be closed, but the terminal remained accessible to travelers.
