Authorities and medical personnel met a Southwest Airlines flight in Chicago after reports of a passenger defecating in their seat.

CHICAGO, IL — Police and medical personnel met a Southwest Airlines flight as it landed in Chicago in response to reports a passenger took her clothes off and defecated on her seat, according to a report.

In a statement to NBC News, Southwest officials said authorities responded to "a situation involving a customer" on flight 418 from Philadelphia to Chicago's Midway Airport. A source familiar to the situation told NBC the woman removed her clothes before defecating in the seat.

Due to the incident, the plane was forced out of service for mandatory cleaning.
