Pedestrian Struck Several Times While Attempting To Cross Dan Ryan

CHICAGO — A person who was struck several times by vehicles while they were attempting to cross the Dan Ryan Expressway on Thursday night remains in serious condition for injuries sustained in the incident, according to the Illinois State Police.
Police said that the person walked into the expressway near 73rd Street on Chicago’s South Side around 11:10 p.m. The person was then hit by several vehicles, according to police, and sustained serious injuries.
State Police said that five vehicles were involved in the crash and that one driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Inbound traffic on the Dan Ryan was shut down until around 4 a.m. on Friday for the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the state police.
