Planned Parenthood Of Illinois Reopening Health Centers

CHICAGO, IL — Planned Parenthood of Illinois (PPIL) will reopen most of its health center locations across the state Monday after temporarily consolidating services to six centers in March in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the organization announced Wednesday in a news release. The nine additional health centers are reopening following the state’s shift into Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan, the news release said, adding that all open health centers are maintaining safety measures put in place over the course of the pandemic, in alignment with guidelines issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

Planned Parenthood of Illinois is providing services out of the following 15 health centers beginning Monday, and said decisions about reopening the remaining three health centers will be made at a later date:

Chicago:

• Austin, 5937 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago
• Loop, 18 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago
• Near North, 1200 N. LaSalle Ave., Chicago
• Rogers Park, 5725 N. Broadway Ave., Chicago
• Roseland, 11250 S. Halsted St., Chicago
• Wicker Park, 1152 N. Milwaukee, Chicago

Chicago suburbs:

• Aurora, 3051 E. New York St., Aurora
• Flossmoor, 19831 Governors Highway, Flossmoor
• Orland Park, 14470 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park
• Waukegan, 1601 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan

Central Illinois:

• Bloomington, 1319 N. Veteran’s Parkway, Bloomington
• Champaign, 302 E. Stoughton St., Champaign

To slow the spread of the coronavirus Planned Parenthood of Illinois has put the following safety measures in place at all health centers:

• Symptom and temperature screening of both patients and staff
• A universal masking policy
• Remote check-in to reduce the amount of time patients spend inside the health center;
• Social distancing measures, whenever possible, including limiting the number of patients in our waiting rooms at any one time;
• Enhanced disinfecting and cleaning practices in all PPIL health centers and buildings;
• Telehealth appointments for select services, so that patients can receive high-quality health care from the comfort of home;
• Restricting health center access to patients only. Children and guests are not currently allowed in PPIL health centers. We know this is inconvenient, but please know this is to keep our patients and staff as safe as possible.
