Popular Toy Company Opens Permanent Shop In Chicago

A popular toy brand with a loyal global customer base has opened up a permanent store in Chicago.

CHICAGO, IL — Jellycat, a popular company that has taken the world by storm, has opened up a permanent shop in Chicago.

The shop-in-shop experience has moved into the Nordstrom Michigan Avenue flagship store on Tuesday, offering customers a one-of-a-kind experience when purchasing the brand's beloved characters. This location will also sell the brand-new Nordstrom-exclusive carrot cake.

"This collaboration builds on Nordstrom’s long-standing relationship with Jellycat, having been one of the early retailers to champion the brand’s imaginative and high-quality plush toys," the companies said in a release. "Together, Nordstrom and Jellycat continue to bring joy to customers of all ages through thoughtful storytelling and exclusive offerings."

The new Chicago store will give collectors a chance to get their hands on hard-to-get plushes, like the basketball, pickle and croissant.

Jellycat, a London-based company, has garnered a loyal worldwide customer base with stores all around the globe. Some stores invite customers to embrace their inner child and play before they buy with a pâtisserie in Paris, a diner in New York and a fish and chip stand in London.

Chicago's Jellycat store features blue shelves full to the brim with toys and is labeled as a "Road Trip to Joy." The store has the same hours as the Nordstrom, open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
