Boyfriend Knees Pregnant Girlfriend in Stomach, Spits Blood at Cop: Prosecutor

• A pregnant woman, beaten unconscious and kneed in the stomach by her boyfriend, according to Summit police, needed five staples to close a gash in her forehead. When officers went to arrest 27-year-old Joaquin Mendez, he was still throwing punches, according to authorities, and spitting blood at the cops.
