CHICAGO — A man who identifies himself on social media as the "Pro-Life Spiderman" was arrested on Tuesday morning after he scaled the Accenture Tower in Chicago’s West Loop, police said.

The man, Maison Des Champs, 24, Las Vegas, scaled the side of the 45-story, 588-foot building in just more than an hour. The climb was characterized as a publicity stunt to call attention to his anti-abortion cause and to raise money for his not-for-profit organization, Let Them Live.

Police arrested Des Champs after he reached the roof of the tower just after 11 a.m. Charges are pending and officials from Accenture Tower declined comment on the incident. Des Champs posted livestream footage of him scaling the side of the tower without ropes on his Instagram account.

Michael Tomsa, who works in the building, told Patch in an email that building management told people working inside of the building not to go to the south side of the building.
