CHICAGO — Warning: Hot days ahead. The hottest point of the week could be Saturday, when the forecast calls for a 99° heat index and 93° temperature reading. That's 22 degrees higher than today's expected high temperature of 71°.

The record high for June 11 was 97°. There's a chance we could exceed the forecast and break that record. The average for mid-June in the Chicago area is 76°. The hottest temperature ever recorded in Chicago was 104°, on June 26, 1988.
