Senior Smack Talk: Jalen Rose's Granny Calls Out Sister Jean
"It's over Saturday," Mary Belle Hicks, 100, tells Loyola's 98-year-old team chaplain and No. 1 fan in an Instagram video.

CHICAGO, IL — Along with the upsets and improbable runs, this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament has been dominated by unique and lovable fans. First, it was Loyola's team chaplain and longtime supporter Sister Jean Dolores-Schmidt. Then it was Mariah Musselman, the 8-year-old daugther of Nevada head coach Eric Musselman.
Now get ready for University of Michigan alum and former Chicago Bulls guard Jalen Rose's 100-year-old grandma. The ESPN NBA commentator posted a video of his grams, Mary Belle Hicks, on Instagram Monday, and she had some pointed words for the 98-year-old Sister Jean.
"Sister Jean, it's been a good ride, but it's over Saturday. Go Blue! 100!" Hicks said in the video.

No. 3 Michigan faces No. 11 Loyola in the Final Four on Saturday, March 31, in San Antonio.
A Detroit native, Rose was a member of Michigan's Fab Five team of the early '90s. That squad made it to the championship game in 1992 and 1993, losing both times. The '93 game was notable for Rose's teammate Chris Webber calling a timeout in the closing seconds with Michigan down 2 points to North Carolina. Unfortunately, the Wolverines were out of timeouts, and Webber received a technical foul, which sealed the game for the Tar Heels.
