Sex-Crazed In Chicago: City Makes List Of US Hookup Hotspots

CHICAGO — Apparently, National Singles Day is Saturday, Sept. 22, and that occasion was reason enough for Four Loko to ask the question: Where are the country's hookup hotspots? Chicago singles will be happy to know that their hometown is among the most sex-crazed U.S. cities — or "thirstiest," as the kids and the unhip adults trying to sound like the kids are calling it — beating out perceived dens of iniquity, such as Los Angeles and New York.

The Windy City ranked No. 7, according to the malt beverage's list. While not nearly as sex-crazed as Chicago, Illinois was a respectable No. 24 among states in the informal survey.

Here's a look at the top five cities on the list by Four Loko, which is sold by Chicago-based Phusion Projects:

1. Denver
2. Seattle
3. Washington, D.C.
4. Dallas
5. Nashville

And these are the top five states:

1. Rhode Island (no size jokes, please)
2. Maine
3. Michigan
4. New Hampshire
5. Massachusetts

Four Loko determined its results by using Google search volume per capita data involving particular sex-related — or at least sex-adjacent — terms. Some of the choice words and phrases included dating app names ("Tinder," "Bumble," "Grindr"), courting habits ("best pick-up lines," "best bars for singles," "best first dates") and general gettin' it on behavior ("where to buy condoms," "cities with hottest girls/guys," "best bars for hookups").

So where did LA and NYC end up in the survey? The City of Angels ended up at a not-so-devilish No. 19, and the Big Apple was a far-from-tempting No. 25.
