2 Shot By Aramark Employee, Suspect Still At Large: UI Health

CHICAGO, IL — A suspect accused of shooting two people in their residence is at large Tuesday, according to police and UI Health. Officials say the shooting came after the man was released amid allegations he used a gun to threaten a patient at UI Health.

In an alert shared with employees, UI Health identified the suspect as Glenn Rhymes, who worked for Aramark and had been working at UI when the incident involving the patient happened Monday.

No one was injured in the incident at UI Health, and Rhymes's gun was confiscated, per the alert.

Police said Rhymes was arrested by UIC police Monday after he threatened the patient during an altercation. After his release, Rhymes went to the home of another Aramark employee and shot them and another individual, authorities allege. No update on the victims' condition was available as of Tuesday afternoon.

The UI Health alert read, "UIC Police have set up an Incident Command at UI Health. We have tightened access to UI Health facilities and additional UIC Police are posted at UI Health."
