Shots Fired Inside Chicago Movie Theater: CPD

The shooting came after a physical fight between two male patrons at the Showplace Icon Movie Theater, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — Shots were fired inside a movie theater in the South Loop, but no one was struck, Chicago police said Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired inside the Showplace Icon Movie Theater around 7:30 p.m.

Police said two males were involved in a physical fight inside the theater when one of them pulled a gun and fired shots at the other.

Both were taken into custody, and no injuries were reported.

The theater was evacuated and remained closed Saturday night, according to police. Police told ABC Chicago over 700 people were inside the theater at the time of the shooting. Those who were evacuated would have to come back Sunday to retriever their belongings since the theater was closed, ABC reported.
