A few hours before the body was discovered, Levin’s sister, who lived in the same building, heard a “loud noise” in his apartment, saw the back door was open and encountered a stranger, who told her he was with Levin and would have him call her, according to the Sun-Times.

The sister later found Levin, partially clothed and bruised, bound with duct tape and a power cord, a sock in his mouth, the newspaper reported.
