It's Tuesday!

(Patch Media)

Get ready to party like it's 1998 — the last time a Chicago pro-basketball time brought home world championship. Today, we'll celebrate the Chicago Sky's WNBA title with a parade down Michigan Avenue that kicks off from Wintrust Arena at 11 a.m. and culminates with a rally at Pritzker Pavilion in Millennial Park.

Last week, Gov. J.B. Pritzker made a generous, if not Trump-like, offer to send the National Guard to the violent streets of Chicago. "Obviously, we’ll help in any way we possibly can,” the governor said in an act of political pandering to anyone who might accuse him of being soft on crime while running for re-election. It's too bad Pritkzer seems more willing to offer up an occupying force than significant state funding to address the city's rampant violent crime problem that stretches from poor, neglected neighborhoods to just outside his Gold Coast mansion's front door.
