Rickafrackarassafrakarickin' weather! Our evening commute and overnight will likely will be marred by showers and thunderstorms. And if you don't have a working air-conditioner in your vehicle on your way home, you'll probably be sitting in a muggy buggy.

Forecasts anticipate the Chicago-area storms to start anywhere from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.

The high temperature for the day is 86 degrees.

  • Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent. At night, cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 60s.
  • Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 80. At night, partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 60s.
  • Sunday: Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s. In the evening, partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s.
  • Memorial Day: Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s inland, but only in the upper 60s near the lake. Then temperatures falling into the mid 70s by evening. At night, partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s.
