Sunday High of 62 Degrees Beat 121-Year Record
Now that all the snow is melted, the ground is ready for ... more snow in the first days of March.

Sunday was the warmest Feb. 28 in Chicago since 1895. The recorded temperature at O’Hare International Airport at 1 p.m. was 62 degrees, besting the record high of 61 degrees set 121 years ago for this date, according to the National Weather Service.
The last day of February will be warm, too. But the first days of March will be nippy and bring us snow.
- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. In the evening, rain, freezing rain, and sleet likely before midnight, then snow and sleet likely, possibly mixed with rain and freezing rain between midnight and 1 am, then snow likely after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 29. North wind around 15 mph becoming east northeast after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.
- Tuesday: Cloudy, with a high near 34. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Snow likely mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Blustery, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
- Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of snow before 7 am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 31. A 30 percent chance of snow after 7 pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
- Thursday: A chance of snow, again. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31, low near 21.
