Chicago-Area Weather: Sunny Skies Until Wednesday

A chance of thunderstorms later in the week as temperatures rise a bit. A look at the week ahead.

Rain didn't fall on Easter Sunday until the evening hours. We'll continue to see rainfall overnight, and then the skies are expected to clear for a few days until Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Mostly clear in the evening, with a low around 37. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. At night, mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Breezy. In the evening, showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 52. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Thursday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Breezy. A slight chance of rain at night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Friday: A chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 48.
