- A Chicago police officer was shot during a traffic stop in Englewood. Someone inside the car suddenly shot into the squad car, wounding the officer in the shoulder, Lorraine Swanson reports. (Patch)

- Taste of Chicago is making a comeback — and Grant Park can no longer hold it. The return of the annual food fest will have three consecutive mini-Taste weekend festivals in Austin, Pullman and Little Village. (Eater Chicago)
