Teen Falls From Loop Building In Apparent Suicide: Cops

The incident happened late Wednesday morning along West Van Buren Street, between Wells and Franklin streets.

CHICAGO, IL — An 18-year-old man was killed after falling from a building Wednesday morning in the Loop, according to the Chicago Tribune. The apparent suicide caused streets to be closed near the building, the Chicago Office of Emergency Management & Communications said.

According to Chicago police, the fall happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, in the 200 block of West Van Buren Street, the Tribune reports. When the teen was discovered, he was unresponsive, and police believe he fell in an apparent suicide, the report added.

Van Buren Street was closed between Wells and Franklin streets, but police have reopened it to normal traffic, OEMC said in an online alert.
