Teen Shot Near Macy's In Downtown Chicago: Police

No one was immediately in custody and the investigation was ongoing, police said.

CHICAGO — A teen was shot Saturday night while walking near the Macy’s in downtown Chicago, according to police.

The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m., police said, adding the 19-year-old woman was walking on West Washington Street near State Street with several other people when an unknown male fired shots, striking her in the leg.

The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to police, who said no one was immediately in custody and the investigation was ongoing.

Another woman was also brought to the hospital in connection with the incident but was not shot, WGN reported, adding there was a heavy police presence Saturday night outside Macy’s.
