Top Cop's Wife Hits Chicago PD With Discrimination Complaint
Lt. Nakia Fenner alleges that the department's promotional pratices are discriminatory.

CHICAGO, IL — The wife of Chicago's top cop — a lieutenant on the city's police force — has filed a discrimination complaint against the department. Lt. Nakia Fenner's complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission calls the Chicago Police Department's promotion practices unfair, and she claims she has been hurt by the discriminatory process, according to WGN-TV News.
The details of the complaint were not revealed, and it is illegal for the EEOC to discuss cases it is investigating, the report stated. Fenner, who married Supt. Eddie Johnson in 2017, would not comment about the allegations, the report added.
CPD spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told WGN that the department had received Fenner's complaint, and officials await the findings of an independent investigation. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability and the Chicago inspector general also were asked by Johnson to investigate the matter, the report added.
