Evening Storm Sweeps Through Chicago
Torrential rains sweeping through the region are reducing visibility and will affect evening commuters throughout the Chicago area. The storm is bringing thunder and lightning and episodes of heavy downpour. Nearly an inch of rain per hour is expected to fall, and flooding in some areas is likely. The rains are expected to last through 6 p.m., with a 50 percent chance of rain until 9 p.m. Some areas may also see fog, according to the National Weather Service. Flood advisories have been issued for parts of Cook, Will and Grundy counties.
