'Total Chaos' on the CTA Blue Line Friday Night
Wind-strewn debris on the tracks to blame for long delays, ornery riders and revolt.
Trouble on the CTA Blue Line led to delays of more than an hour, and angry, confused passengers. Some of the CTA riders took matters into their own hands and got off the stalled trains and began walking on the tracks Friday evening.
The Chicago Fire Department shut down the Green and Pink line trains due to debris on the tracks late in the afternoon. Green Line service was temporarily suspended between Harlem/Lake and Clark/Lake due to debris on the tracks. Pink Line service suspended between Polk and Loop due to debris downtown.
The stoppage on the Blue Line was attributed to congestion at Racine.
