"We’ve been trying to ward off this moment since #flattenthecurve, but as it turns out, a super-spreader surge that wiped-out what would usually be our busiest time of year was the last little straw this camel could handle," they said in the caption accompanying a photo of Lost Lake's iconic neon sign.

With cocktails that were as enticing to look at as they were to drink, and a rum list longer than a ship manifest, Lost Lake earned accolades from booze writers around the globe. The joint was a two-time James Beard Award finalist and earned a spot on Time Out's 50 Best Bars in the World list, among other accolades.

One more boozy weekend and it's gone.

"This coming Thursday, January 13th, is our seventh birthday — and it will also begin our last weekend of service. Maybe someday we’ll be back in one form or another, but it looks like this is it for now," Lost Lake's owners wrote on social media.

This weekend, Lost Lake will be serving bottled to-go cocktails —that last two weeks in your fridge. Next week, from Thursday to Saturday between 5p.m. to midnight, will be the last chance to belly up to the tiki bar to order Bunny's Banana Daiquiri or a $56 glass of Samaroli Guyana.

Cheers, Lost Lake. Chicago rum lovers will miss you.
