CHICAGO — The man John Doe who tried to jump over the railing and onto the Kennedy Expressway on Wednesday night has been identified by Chicago police. He's a 30-year-old Chicago resident, police said late Thursday.
Police discovered the man just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. He had climbed on to the railing over the Kennedy Expressway in the 4900 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, but police were able to grab him before he jumped or fell, authorities said.
Before the man was taken to the hospital, he remained standing, unresponsive, with clenched fists, police said. He had scratches on his fist, dried blood on his hands and dirty clothing. On different occasions, he said his name was either Charles, Tom or Sam, according to police.
