CHICAGO — Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Chicago on Wednesday as Democrats, including President Joe Biden, will begin visiting spots around the country to tout the administration’s accomplishments during Biden’s first two years in office.

The White House announced on Monday that Harris would visit Chicago to tout Biden’s economic plan, including his ability to bring Republicans, Independents, and Democrats together to pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The White House did not announce a schedule for Harris, who, along with Biden and U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, will be making appearances around the country. The stops come a day after Republicans take control of the House of Representatives, which is likely to make passing any legislation difficult during Biden’s final two years of his term.

Various media reports said that Biden could be within weeks of announcing that he will seek a second term in the White House.

The White House said that while in Chicago, Harris will discuss “how the President’s economic plan is rebuilding our infrastructure, creating good-paying jobs — jobs that don’t require a four-year degree and revitalizing communities left behind,” the White House said in its announcement on Monday.

Biden will be joined Wednesday in a rare bipartisan appearance with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, where the president is expected to tout his $1.2 trillion infrastructure law and broader economic plan, the White House said.

The trip is part of a nationwide campaign by the Biden administration to talk about the president’s economic plan, which includes the administration’s work to pass the 2021 bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
