Trucker Shot in Face in Chicago's 20th Expressway Shooting
A truck driver is in critical condition after a shooting on the Dan Ryan late Thursday night. This is the 3rd expressway shooting this week.

A man shot in the face while driving on the Dan Ryan Expressway was in critical condition Friday morning. The truck driver was shot just before midnight between 87th Street and 95th Street, according to State Police, as he drove northbound on the Dan Ryan.
Three lanes of the expressway were shut down through the early morning hours for the police investigation. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. WGN reports he's a 68-year-old Chicago man.
This is the third expressway shooting in Chicago this week and the 20th in 2016.

A motorist was shot in the head Monday night and drove onto Interstate 57 near 111th Street on Chicago's South Side, according to State Police. The man then drove onto the interstate, where he died and his minivan rolled into a grassy embankment.

On Sunday, two people died in a murder-suicide on the Kennedy Expressway. A day earlier, shots were fired on the Stevenson Expressway. Last week, a man was shot in the leg on the Stevenson Expressway and the gunman sped away.

Also overnight, at about 20 minutes after midnight, an Illinois State Police trooper was “significantly” injured when a drunken driver plowed into a stopped squad car early Friday morning on I-55 in Bolingbrook.
