Woman, 78, Killed, 7 Others Injured In Chicago Crash On NW Side: Cops
The Indiana woman was one of five passengers in an SUV that was hit by another vehicle at the intersection of Peterson Avenue and Kimball.
CHICAGO — A 78-year-old Indiana woman was killed, and seven more people were injured Tuesday night in a crash that took place on Chicago’s Northwest Side on Tuesday night, police said.
Seven people, including two children, were taken to local hospitals in fair to critical condition after the crash, which took place in the 3400 block of West Peterson Avenue.
Police said that an SUV driven by a 46-year-old man was traveling east on Peterson Avenue when it was struck by a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old man at the intersection of Peterson Avenue and Kimball, police said.

The SUV had five passengers, including the 78-year-old woman, who was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the woman as Zainab Suboh of Highland, Ind.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in fair condition along with a 36-year-old woman, police said. An 81-year-old passenger was also taken to St. Francis in critical condition.

Two children were taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, but police have not provided any further details. The accident remains under investigation.
