Woman Killed By Conveyor Belt At O'Hare ID'd
The woman, 57, was reportedly seen on camera walking into a restricted area just before 2:30 a.m.
CHICAGO, IL — A woman who died when she was crushed by a conveyor belt in a baggage handling area at O'Hare airport was not an employee, according to multiple news reports.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified her as 57-year-old Virginia Christine Vinton of Waxhaw, North Carolina.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford told the Chicago Sun-Times that surveillance footage showed Vinton entering a restricted area in Terminal 5, the international terminal, at 2:27 a.m. Thursday.

It was not clear how she got into the baggage room, which is not publicly accessible, Landford added. Surveillance video shows her walking into the area, but does not show what happened to her.
Vinton's body was not discovered until around 7:30 a.m., five hours after she was seen entering the unoccupied restricted area on surveillance footage, according to the Chicago Tribune.
