Woman Set On Fire On Train After Man Pours Liquid On Her, Lights It: Police
Police said the woman was involved in a verbal argument with a man when he poured the liquid on her and ignited it.

CHICAGO, IL — A woman was in critical condition Monday night after police say a man poured a liquid on her and ignited it, setting her on fire, as she was riding a Blue Line CTA train in the Loop, police said.
Police said the woman, 26, was on the train in the 100 block of West Lake Street at 9:25 p.m. when she got into a verbal altercation with a man who appeared to be roughly 45 years old.
The altercation became physical when the man poured the liquid on the woman and lit it, according to police.

Police said the train came to a stop, and the man fled. The victim got off the train and fell to the ground.
According to police, the fire was extinguished before an office arrived at the scene. The woman sustained severe burns to her body and was taken to Stroger hospital in critical condition.

No one was in custody in the incident. Chicago arson detectives were investigating.
A witness told NBC Chicago that the woman was lying on the ground as paramedics attempted to give her CPR, adding, "she looked like she was in an awful lot of pain."
Blue Line service did not resume until 1:30 a.m., NBC reported.
The attack comes nearly a year after a woman in New York died after she was set on fire on the subway, Patch reported.
