Woman Shot Less Than One Mile From Police Station

A 65-year-old woman took herself to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to her left hand.

CHICAGO, IL— A 65-year-old woman was walking in an alley in the 5900 block of South Campbell Avenue at approximately 11:30 a.m. Monday morning when she was struck by a bullet in her left hand, according to Chicago police.

The victim took herself to Holy Cross Hospital on 68th Street, less than two miles from where the incident occurred in the Gage Park neighborhood, and is listed in good condition.

According to the Chicago Police Department's incident notification site, no offender description is available and no one is in custody at this time.
