Wrigley Field Food Stand Catches Fire
No one was hurt in the Thursday afternoon blaze at the ballpark.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs might have been playing in Arizona the past few days, but that doesn't mean Wrigley Field hasn't been a hot spot while the team has been away. Firefighters had to put out a concession stand fire Thursday afternoon, the Chicago Tribune reports.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, no one was hurt in the blaze, and no structural damage was done to the building, the report stated. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but investigators suspect it might have been electrical in nature, the report added.
Firefighters responded to a call at around 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, concerning a machine fire at the Jim Beam concession stand on the ballpark's fifth floor, the report stated. The blaze, which centered around burning debris near an oven, was put out thanks to a hose under the home plate press box

“The concession stand was burned up pretty good …," Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford told the Tribune.
The Cubs were off Thursday, and they won't play at Wrigley again until Monday, Sept. 24. But the team won't have to leave the city to play its game Friday. The Cubs take on the White Sox for a three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field on the South Side.
